There is a climate emergency. It is up to you to decide whether you want to make the world a better place or continue with business as usual.
While leaders are discussing targets and viability to reduce emissions globally some regions have already set reduction targets. For example, the European Union wants to reduce 20% of its emissions by 2020 emissions (% lower than those of 1990).
Among critics and skeptics, young leaders like Swedish 16-year-old Greta Thunberg are taking a strong position and denouncing the climate emergency crisis we are facing. By supporting the campaign Fridays for Future this young girl is making global leaders ashamed, last Friday students gathered in 522 places in 75 countries! She also crossed the Atlantic in a sailing boat twice to meet-up in NY with world leaders and back to Madrid for COP25.
Climate change facts
There is an issue, we all know it, denial is no longer an option. we need to take action. Skeptics cannot say no to the fact that burning forests and fossil fuels make atmospheric CO2 levels rise. They cannot deny that when CO2 levels rise, temperature follows. And that a small change in temperature can have the most catastrophic consequences.
Greenhouse gas emissions are responsible for global warming, changing or destroying ecosystems, and come at enormous human and economic costs. There are pretty negative scenarios. For more information, you can find a special report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the impacts of global warming of 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels.
What options do I have?
You will probably think there is nothing that you can do to solve this problem. You might think that it is too big, too hard to solve. Thinking that you are too small and that your actions are not contributing to global warming. Or you can think that the impact you will have will be the tiniest and it won’t matter. The problem is, that with these pessimistic and negative approaches, things cannot move forward. Things will not change.
Not relating our daily actions to global issues is a problem. We cannot ask governments, leaders, companies to change if we do not do our part.
The good news is, we can solve it as individuals. But how? Easy, taking action as individuals reducing our impact and offsetting our emissions to reach net-zero emissions. All of us.
This is our goal, we want to make this as easy as it can get, either if you are a person or a company we want to help you on your path! Walking you through your decision making, providing alternatives to your problems, helping you measure your impact, keeping track and finally offsetting the carbon emissions you cannot avoid.
We understand that you have to travel, either if it is by plane, commuting in a car. We know that you have to eat, buy clothes, a house… You might have the feeling that no matter what you do, it has an impact. You are right, but we are here to help.
Climate change is real, it cannot be ignored anymore, the good news is there is something you can do it about it.
Be the change.
Help us fight climate change by sharing the word.
